So here's a couple random things about us:
We bought an ice cream maker (which is incredible by the way) before we left Texas. This is a picture of Steve trying to pick up one of the freezer bowls off the the carpet. Note to self, thaw ice cream bowls before packing...

Here we have a picture of the birthday cake I iced for myself (also in Texas). I forgot to leave room for my name, so I wrote it on my hand... which led to lots of icing on lots of people (especially little brothers). Gosh I am such a good example! Haha

Steve got me this awesome painting stuff and beautiful flowers for my birthday (in Texas). And just so you know, I don't paint very well yet. But everybody has got to start somewhere! Check out my Caitlin Scherwin link to the right to see some art that I appreciate.

Below are some cookies (homemade Oreo's supposedly) that I made a couple of weeks ago. Like my mom always taught me, presentation is everything! I made them 'Fudge Round' size instead of Oreo size, which I liked a LOT. The powdered sugar helped the cookies stay moist. (I totally made that up). For Halloween I made more cookies and colored the cream cheese icing orange. I tried to make the second batch the correct size and used cheaper cake mix, but I didn't enjoy them as much. What can I say? Everything is bigger and better when made the Texas way!

I also made lasagna that day! I used the recipe from The Pioneer Woman Cooks website. I wish I could say it was 'The Best Lasagna Ever', but I was a little disappointed. My favorite lasagna ever is from Zio's in Texas. Next time I make lasagna (seeing as I have lots of noodles left), I'm going to use more layers of noodles, a mix of cottage cheese AND ricotta cheese, and I'm going to separate the meat and sauce a little. I like it when you get the sauce poured over the top and the layers are pretty distinct. Oh and she used whole tomatoes for her sauce. Not my favorite, I'm not gonna lie.

So now you know! I'm glad I finally got those photos up. Hope y'all have a great week!

You can do three "sauces" that is what Momma stone does. First is red meat. Second is white with chopped spinach. Third is your ricotta (I Love cottage and reed was raised on ricotta so I've adapted) with one egg and your parmaisan. I never make all three (done it once and not worth it to me personally) but rather combine them by adding spinach to red meat and ignore the white sauce.
Hi, I found your blog and I love it. I love the home you are creating, good ideas.
