Raleigh and Trent are most definitely going to be Calvin and Hobbes for Halloween.
Oh yes, I am so excited!! (Can you see Raleigh's "Calvin hair"?)
I just love this picture of Steve and Raleigh, cuties! I mean, strapping men!
Check out my library book sale booty!! 70-ish books for $30!!!
Click on the picture to enlarge and see the awesome-ness : )
And our new couches from my Dad and his family! Thank you guys so much!!
We haven't quite figured out the new layout, but this is where we are at so far.
And the big TV cabinet that we plan on putting shelves in and housing more books, of course lol!
This weekend was pretty amazing. First our visitors from Atlanta were here and we had pizza night and ice cream sandwiches! My Dad got a kick out of Raleigh saying "Stop talking, Mommy!" (He doesn't yell it, he just says it very matter-of-factly lol) The next morning we had Steve's newly famous french toast (its famous because I would eat it every morning if I could!) and then we headed to the book sale where I was NOT dissappointed!! It wasn't soon after that our guests had to leave and then we napped. The pumpkin patch/corn maze was next and we wore ourselves out. So after that adventure (two pumpkin patch places by the way), we went home and made popcorn and watched Monster House. Raleigh is so funny, he kept asking "What's happening??" during the scary-ish parts and so I would tell him and he would say "Oh!" and just keep watching. No nightmares yet! Anyways, Sunday we had church and nursery was a little crazy but I had help from two wonderful sisters and they had a lot more energy to be creative and play with the kids than I did, I'm not gonna lie I was dragging! Anyways, we put in White Christmas after church and I took a nap. Putting in White Christmas means it really is fall!! And I'll watch it till Easter I'm sure. This post is getting long, if you made it this far congrats! You get a free delicious recipe for Smore's Bars, and here it is:
12 Whole Graham Crackers
3/4 cup butter
3/4 cup brown sugar
3 cups mini marshmallows
4 milk chocolate candy bars, broken into pieces
Heat oven to 350 degrees, spray a 9 X 13 pan and then lay down graham crackers so sides touch.
Melt butter and sugar in a sauce pan over medium heat, stirring constantly until smooth and mixture just comes to a boil, about 5 minutes (probably longer, mine didn't cook long enough). Pour over crackers and bake for 6 minutes or until bubbly (again, mine didn't bubble, so maybe cook for longer). Remove from over and sprinkle marshmallows and chocolate and bake for 3 more minutes. Cool and cut into bars! Found this recipe on the back of the Target Graham Cracker box : )
For making it through the recipe, you also receive a link to a super cute art project idea (and the super cute party idea website it came off of!) Right here: http://onecharmingparty.com/2010/09/21/art-gallery-party-station-4/
And if you made it alllll the way to the art project, CONGRATS!! Here is a funny video from SNL! Baby Spanx!!
Have a great week!!
