I just want to share this story because in retrospect it is SO FUNNY, but for 24 hours it was Mommy torture!! Raleigh and I were hangin' out during nap time, watching a movie, whatevs, and I was allllllmost asleep when Raleigh in a slightly panicky voice says "Mom, I swallowed it!". I rolled over, a little peeved about being woken up, and asked him what it was he swallowed. And he told me he swallowed a penny! (The same penny I had told him ALL day long to get out of his mouth because money is gross!) I had a second to figure out how to react, and I could tell he was worried and scared (tearing up right now just thinking about his scared little face!). So I told him calmly and quietly that we would call dad, call grammy, and call the doctor. We woke up Trenty and went to the doctor, were sent to get an Xray and voila! We got this cool little picture of his teeny tiny abdomen! So cool! Anyway, the Xray tech was impressed that the penny had gotten so far down so quickly (this was about 5 hours after he swallowed it) and he said that Raleigh must have a great digestive system. Side note: I don't know if he was joking, but that totally made me feel like a good mom, even if I have nothing to do with it lol!!! So he looked good, it wasn't stuck in his chest or esophagus or anything and the doctor said it should pass in a week or so. Amazingly it passed the next morning! Whirlwind story, but I am so glad he was not seriously hurt and we got that "life lesson" out of the way. He won't swallow anything else again... right??? Well I hope not. And I'm glad we got this super cool xray picture : )

HAHAHAA! I am laughing so hard hoping that the karma does not come back around to bit me in the butt. Seriously this is hilarious. I probably would not have taken him to the doctor but cool that you did and got this xray. I remember swallowing money when I was a kid, I cannot remember what my parents did.
Oh mine...happy to read that he is ok. Boys will be boys and you have two, oh mine.....if i started to write down everything that Cody put in his mouth and swallowed, i could be here all day typing.
