Come, Listen to a Prophet's Voice!

Come listen to living prophets

Last Sunday, my sweet little three year old gave his first "talk" in primary.  His first assignment of this kind was an article of faith reading about a month ago, and it was a little traumatic for both of us.  Poor Raleigh, coming from two parents who are a little (read: a lot) wary of public speaking.  We memorized the article of faith with him and practiced often, but he still left the room in tears.  That broke my heart for him and I was hoping that we would someday figure out how to help him with this fear, although we can barely help ourselves!  So when he received his little sticker saying he would give a talk in Primary, I was scared inside, but tried to be outwardly hopeful.  (PS he drew that picture in Primary! Cuteness!)

We prepared his talk during FHE and practiced every night.  The day arrived, and my anxiety was through the roof!  Just like last time, he had practiced and he was excited... but would he go through with it??  Well, he did.  And as I listened to his tender voice, I wept like a baby myself.  At least only one of us cried that time!

Raleigh's talk said, "I am blessed when I choose to follow the Prophet.  Our Prophet today is Thomas S. Monson!  Heavenly Father has given us prophets to guide us and teach us so we can be happy!  I love our Prophet, Thomas S. Monson, and pray for him every day."

Yes, we took one of those lines from The Friend magazine, haha, but its the truth!  The Prophet teaches us to be happy, and we are very happy to get to listen to his voice, especially this weekend!!  My mom is here and we're going to make Emily's cinnamon rolls, watch Conference at home, and soak up the love of our church leaders, and of our Father in Heaven.  I am so grateful for this day!  I hope you have a great weekend too!
Love y'all!

I love this, it made me happy. So so happy when they are old enough to learn the gospel. Such a good mom you are!
